Sally E. Jeffcoat is Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Healthcare Operations, at Ascension Health. In this role Ms. Jeffcoat provides leadership and oversight to the operations functions of Ascension Health and works with the Ministry Market Leaders to create an organizational culture that recognizes the importance of strategic change leadership, excellence in execution, accountability and the development of high-performing teams.

Prior to joining the System Office, Ms. Jeffcoat served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Carondelet Health Network, Tucson, Ariz., and also as the West Ministry Market Leader for Ascension Health. In that role she provided strategic and operational leadership for Carondelet Health Network while promoting alignment among Health Ministries within the West Market and with the System Office on issues related to Mission and Vision. In addition, Ms. Jeffcoat shared accountability for strategic positioning and operational performance of the Health Ministries in her market.

Prior to joining Carondelet Health Network in 2003, Ms. Jeffcoat served as President of a hospital network based in Houston, and since 1991 she has held Chief Executive Officer positions in acute care hospitals located in Texas. As a registered nurse, Ms. Jeffcoat previously held clinical and operational leadership positions in a variety of settings. She also has experience in building two state-of-the-art acute care facilities.

Ms. Jeffcoat received her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the University of Texas. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and chairs the Hospital Council of Southern Arizona. She is the Treasurer and officer of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association board of directors and is a member of the board of CHAN. She also serves as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club and a board member of the Arizona Town Hall.
