Blastocyst
The embryo of humans and other mammals in the very early stages of development. The blastocyst consists of an inner cell mass made up of human embryonic stem cells and a thin outer-membrane referred to as the trophoblast, which later becomes the placenta and is responsible for establishing a connection with the uterine lining during implantation.
